Modern Mama Birth Doulas

a collaborative approach to women’s wellness in pregnancy, labour, birth and early postpartum

About Me

I am professionally trained as a labour and birth doula and also postpartum doula and founder of Modern Mama Doulas in Regina, Saskatchewan.

I offer a unique experience in which you will receive excellent doula support! I am passionate about supporting new and expecting mothers and families in a way that allows you to feel confident and empowered about your decisions, informed about your choices, and surrounded by love and respect during this most memorable time.

I am prepared to work with a variety of clients in hospital or home settings. I am part of a strong network of doulas in Regina and  have attended and audited a variety of childbirth preparation and breastfeeding classes in the city. I have a strong knowledge base and can recommend books, videos, classes, and local professionals to promote education for a more positive pregnancy and birthing experience. I am familiar with different philosophies of birth and have the skills to individualize care specific to clients from all walks of life.

I work with the goal of healthy and happy mothers, babies and families. I would love to meet with you to see how I can best serve your family.

Who Am I

About

My name is Kim Entner (Skrypnyk), I am a Registered Massage Therapist with 16 years experience.  I have taken several different courses throughout my career to further my knowledge and experience.  I enjoy working with all my clients and like to think I have developed a personal relationship with each of them.  I offer prenatal massage as a Registered Massage Therapist which can be booked through www.villagehausmassage.com.  I completed the Labour and Birth Doula training in 2019 and am excited to add this practice into my current career.  I completed my Postpartum Doula care in 2020 and am excited to over full care through the 4th trimester as well.  On a personal note, my husband and I welcomed our first baby in 2018, a daughter and we have multiple fur babies. We have an acreage just outside of Balgonie, and we love our quiet country life and are surrounded by great community.

Services

Services

Birth Doula

The birth doula service includes a complimentary meeting to chat about what kind of support you’d like, what kind of support I offer, and to learn what your needs and birth wishes are.  Most importantly it’s an opportunity for us to find out if it feels right to work together.  In an ideal world only people with whom you feel totally comfortable would be invited to such an important event!

Doula services will prepare you for your birth and early postpartum.  This includes prenatal appointments, continuous support during labour and birth, basic postpartum support, and educational support (e-mails, client hand-outs, referrals to local health practitioners, help with birth plans).  I will become familiar with you and your partner, and your specific preferences, needs, and wishes, and help you create a birth plan or vision.

From the time we sign a contract, your doula is available to you. I will answer your questions, offer guidance, provide resources, help you emotionally process the various stages of labor, and support you in achieving any specific birthing goals you may have. My knowledge, expertise, compassion, and care will ensure that you are fully supported through this experience.

And let's not forget about your partner! Being a witness to birth is life changing. Your doula is attuned and experienced in supporting the various levels of involvement that each partner desires. Having a doula takes the pressure off your birth partner and provides space to be truly present for the birth of your baby.

Your investment for my services is $1000.
